Tata.EV has declared the results of crash test of Punch EV & Nexon EV. The Tata Punch EV has set a milestone by receiving the highest ever scores achieved by any vehicle to date – 31.46/32 and 45/49 points for adult occupant protection (AOP) and child occupant protection (COP) respectively.
The micro SUV has demonstrated robust protection for adult crash test dummies, offering good to adequate safety in both scenarios. Tata Punch has gained popularity very quickly and is doing great for the OEM in terms of sales figures each month. Tata Punch (ICE+EV) is in the top 3 positions consistently from the past few months.
The Tata Punch EV is available with two battery options – a 25kWh battery offering a range of 315km (MIDC) and a 35kWh battery with a 421km range (MIDC). Charging options include a 3.3kW wall box charger and a 7.2kW fast charger. The Long Range variants are equipped with a 122 HP and 190 Nm motor, while the regular variants have an 82 HP and 114 Nm motor. The Punch EV is priced between Rs. 10.99 lakhs and Rs. 15.49 lakhs (ex-showroom). It competes with the likes of Citroen eC3 which had secured 0 starts in the Global NCAP crash test ratings.
