Tata Motors has updated the Nexon EV lineup with one more battery option of 45kWh enhancing its claimed range to 489Km. In real-world conditions, Tata Motors estimates the range to be between 350-370 km under the C75 cycle. Earlier the Nexon EV used to come with a 40.5kWh battery pack which has a claimed range of 465 km. The newer battery pack enhances the range by 24 km as compared to the previous long-range models. The newer battery pack is being offered from the base creative variant while the Long Range 40.5kWh starts from the fearless variant.

The 45kWh battery pack is being offered from the base creative variant making it Rs 60,000 cheaper than the 40.5kWh battery pack which starts from the fearless variants. Despite the increase in the battery size the OEM claims that the 45kWh battery has the same physical footprint as compared to the 40.5kWh battery pack due to a 15 per cent boost in energy density. The energy output for both the battery packs remains the same at 145 HP and 215 Nm of torque. The charging time has been also improved with the new battery pack from 56 mins to 48 mins for 10-80% charging.
